1967 Pontiac Firebird Rescue - Firebird/Camaro Build Project: Cleaning out the treasures & rust. #2

In this episode we clean out all the treasures stored in the cabin and trunk of the 1967 Pontiac Firebird rescue project, this pony car barn find featuring the GM f-body car (bother the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird share the same frame/support system) starts it’s long journey to getting back on the road again. With no door key locks, it took a flat-headed screwdriver to pop open the trunk to release all the gems hiding inside. We found new still in the boxes Firebird metal nameplates, receipts dating back to the mid 1990s, the door locks but without keys, found some of the mission front bumper hardware, and more. Inside the car, we pulled the seats which were not bolted down and cleaned up all the broken glass, the layers of dirt, and a few little trim parts from the car. The best thing we found was no real rust issues! Mostly just surface rust! Woot Woot that is a big win! Next, I need to start work on the motor, while it isn’t the original 400, and seems to have an automatic transmission (but I believe it had a manual originally) I want to at least get it running while I look for a used 400 long block to rebuild. #pontiacfirebirdbuild #abandonedfirststart #camaroprojectcar
